Responsibilities: |
Leads the western regional office
of RS Inc. with responsibility for monitoring the junior market and enforcing compliance
with market integrity rules and other regulatory requirements. Provides leadership to a
team of professional staff conducting market surveillance, trade desk examinations,
providing support and advice to market participants, investigations, legal review,
settlement negotiations and disciplinary hearings. The Vice President, Western Region is a
member of RS Inc.'s disciplinary decision making committee. Administrative responsibilities include participation in the RS Inc.
strategic planning process, the implementation of goals, processes and policies for the
western office that are aligned with the mission and strategies of RS Inc. and the control
of budgets.
This is a high profile position, representing RS Inc. with
CDNX, the investing public, other market participants, the media, regulatory organizations
including the securities commissions and the Investment Dealers Association as well as
industry committees and professional groups. |
Qualifications: |
Lawyer or other professional with
10 years related industry experience. A broad knowledge of the junior market is preferred.
Strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, a
positive attitude and the highest standards of integrity and fairness are required. |
