VSE: Sissons, Approved Person Disciplined

Notice to Members #08/99

Vancouver Stock Exchange: Sissons, Approved Person Disciplined

By way of an Offer of Settlement, Jonni-Colleen Sissons ("Sissons"), at the time of the infraction an Approved Person employed by Canaccord Capital Corp. ("Canaccord"), has agreed to the imposition of the following penalties by the Exchange for violation of Exchange Rule D.1.09:

  1. a fine in the amount of $500;
  2. a requirement to re-write and pass the examination based on the Conduct and Practices Handbook for Security and Industry Professionals; and
  3. an assessment of investigative costs in the amount of $1,000.

Rule D.1.09 states in part, that an Approved Person is required to report any information he has regarding any action, investigation or proceedings against or affecting the licensing or registration of the investment adviser within five days of the occurrence of the event.

On July 20, 1998, Sissons was served with a Summons to a Person Charged with a Criminal Offence (the "Criminal Proceeding"). As at August 24, 1998, Sissons had not advised Canaccord, or the Exchange of the Criminal Proceeding. Sissons was aware of the requirement to report material changes to the Exchange, however failed to do so.

Sissons failed to report the Criminal Proceeding to the Exchange within the required five days. The Respondent thereby violated Exchange Rule D.1.09.

No fault was attributed to the Member Firm.
