The Canadian Venture Exchange
(CDNX) is pleased to report its successful millennial rollover. Comprehensive systems and
connectivity tests with a wide variety of industry participants have taken place to ensure
that CDNX would open for business today, problem free.
"We have been proceeding with our Millennium Readiness program
since 1997 with the goal of making today another business day," explains Lloyd
Costley, CDNX Executive Vice President and CFO.
Exhaustive testing and remediation of all infrastructure, computer
systems, networks and related systems have taken place over course of the project. This
past weekend, additional internal verification tests for the trading engine (TradeCDNX)
and related downstream systems, including databases, market information systems, corporate
finance systems and the CDNX website were carried out. External testing was also conducted
with the cooperation of 28 CDNX member firms across Canada.
Additional CDNX staff were on site this morning at 5 a.m. to monitor
all technology systems, and respond to any problems. As expected, no Y2K related
disruptions to internal operations or external trading were experienced.
